May 2020 Construction Updates

Another new month comes with more exciting updates for Liv+ Gainesville! As our move-in day approaches, the construction team has been hard at work, even in the face of all of the challenges we are facing right now. We want to take a moment to thank all of the site staff for their extremely incredible work in pushing forward to make sure our future residents have the best possible move-in experience. You are greatly appreciated!

Our team got the chance to visit the site together and get a personal tour of the property. We were able to get peeks of some of the apartments, courtyards, and the amenity spaces. We can’t believe the progress that has been made and getting to see everything come together was am extremely rewarding moment for us to share with each other. We are so proud to be a part of this project and hope our excitement shines through all of our communications with parents, prospects, and future residents.

As you drive down the SW side of 13^th street near the University of Florida College of Veterinary Science and UF Shands, you can see the immaculate progress of the building exterior, which is now 90% complete! More updates on the courtyards and roads around Liv+ include installation of curbs and pavers, as well as the work on the parking lot, which started this week. Our parking lot will also include visitor spaces for your guests, so the hassles of living in an apartment near UF with no guest parking are over!

Last week, our gorgeous shaker cabinets were 60% installed and the stainless steel appliances (which includes refrigerator, dishwasher, glass top stove, and mounted microwave) are scheduled to be installed this week. If you’ve seen our kitchens, you know that we’ve designed them with modern fixtures as well as an eat-in style bar with bar stools to give it a high-end look that will make all your friends jealous! You might even reconsider the meal-plan at the University of Florida since you will want to cook in your kitchen every chance you get!

The flooring in the apartments include wood-style flooring as well as carpeted bedrooms, and the plush grey carpeting has started installation last week! Having an apartment that features both wood flooring and carpet is a really nice touch to keep the bedroom feeling warm and inviting and the common space easy to clean.

In a previous blog post, we mentioned our resort-style pool had started the shell installation. Well, guess what? In the coming two weeks, the pool equipment will all be set! When the pool is all complete, you’ll enjoy relaxing in the poolside cabanas, catching a Florida Gator game on the jumbotron, soaking up the Florida sunshine during a game of volleyball in the pool, or tailgating with your roomies at our outdoor grills. If you’re lucky enough to have a balcony view with your apartment, you’ll have the best views in Gainesville, hands down.

If you’re not excited yet, wait for this: 3 sections of our apartments are in the final stages of preparation and permanent power is being turned on this week. That’s a HUGE milestone and one giant step closer to getting ready for our August 22^nd move-in when UF students return to Gainesville.
